About:  No couple plans for divorce, but unfortunately some relationships lead there. Arguing and worrying about the future can distract from being engaged with your children, focus at work and can be a source of anxiety. While there is no such thing as a “good” divorce couples can seek a better divorce by managing the process compassionately in such a way that can assuage the trauma parents and children experience. We all carry unresolved problems from previous life cycles with us, into our current situations. Conflict and dysregulation surface during periods of family life-cycle transitions. Questions about how to best respond include: 1.What can you do to help resolve the conflict, reduce stress and anxiety, improve communication and promote active problem solving and healing?; 2. Which behaviors will help make things better no matter what anyone else does?; and 3.How do you deal with differences without sacrificing connection? As a licensed mental health professional/divorce coach with 31 years of family practice experience, I can help you answer these and other complex questions. Together we can work through the difficult emotions and issues that divorce bring up. I can assist in creating and implementing a strategy that will help both parties find a mutually agreeable resolution to restructure family relationships. I look forward to working with you.
